The Warm Glass UK Glass Prize brief for 2010 is to design and make a piece of contemporary glass with the title "NATURE".
Call for Entries: 1st November 2009
Entry Deadline: Midnight January 31st 2010
Voting Opens: February 8th 2010
Voting Closes: February 24th 2010
Winners Announced: March 1st 2010
All entries will be shown on this site's entries page with five finalists in each category being selected by public vote. Only one vote per email address per category is permitted. Multiple votes from a single email address will not be accepted.
Winners will be notified by post and announced on the Warm Glass UK Glass Prize website.
Rules
1.All entries must include an element of kilnformed glass.
2.No purchase is necessary to enter the competition.
3.Only one entry per artist is permitted. Sets will be considered as a single work.
4.No entries will be accepted after the closing date.
5.All entries must be submitted online - other forms of entry are not permitted.
6.A fully completed WGUK glass prize 2010 entry form must be submitted with each entry.
7.Entries must have been made since 1st January 2009.
8.Mixed media objects will qualify as long as glass makes up at least 50% of the piece.
9.The prize must be claimed by 31st July 2010. Prize money cannot be spent in conjunction with any other discounts. Prizes cannot be substituted or traded for cash or alternative prizes.
10.By entering this competition, all entrants accept that their images may be used for publicity purposes by Warm Glass Limited.
11.The judges decision is final.
WGUK Prizes
Prizes will be awarded in three categories as follows:
Artist's Prize: (Open to all glass artists, regardless of experience.)
The prize for this category will be a place on one of our Spring Masterclasses, run by international artists including Silvia Levenson, Bruno Romanelli and Deborah Horrell to be held in Spring 2010 at the resource centre.
Student's Prize: (Open to students currently studying on an accredited full or part-time Further or Higher Education course at a college or university.)
The prize for this category will be a Paragon SC2 kiln.
Newcomer's Prize: (Open to any glass worker who has begun working in the glass medium within the past twelve months and has not sold their work commercially.)
The prize for this category will be £250 to spend on products from the Warm Glass range.
Prizes for second and third places in each category will include products from the Glassline range of products and copies of Brad Walker's book "Contemporary Warm Glass".
